I don't know if it's just me, but music videos seem to be very much a thing of the past. Not so much in the sense that they're rarely made anymore, but more so because they feel like they've lost a certain kind of flare that they once knew. That's not to say, however, that I don't enjoy watching music videos once they come out. They certainly are fun little treats to perhaps hold you over until a certain album is released or to just entertain you with something like awesome live footage. 2013 has had its fair share of music video releases, thus far. In an effort to start centralizing all of these videos into one place, take a look after the break to see what three selections I've made for this first Music Video Mania post.
Up next is a track that's been making frequent appearances on my personal playlists as of late. Coming off of their latest self titled release, thrash metal extraordinaires Revocation released a video for their track "Invidious" about a month back. Again, nothing shocking to be found here but what more would you want from a Revocation video than seeing Dave Davidson shred. In addition, there is some wicked banjo playing during the beginning of the track......yes......banjo playing. It's pretty wicked.
The third, and final, entry of this first Music Video Mania post comes from the almighty ones themselves, Atlantian (Atlanta not Atlantis) metalcore act Norma Jean. The track featured, "If You Got It At Five, You Got It At Fifty," comes from their most recent album Wrongdoers. This is without question my favorite out of the three videos featured on this post. It does feature live footage, but not in any setting like the first two videos were. I won't spoil too much but if you like milk, pool parties, and lots of puking, then this video is right up your alley.
